Economic Policy (Czech Program)

Typical background: Practically oriented economics students who are interested in how public policy works (or should work) in the real world, including the mechanisms operating in the European Union.

Programme’s emphasis: The programme is very eclectic in its emphasis. Real economic and public policy cannot easily by understood without considering insights of related social sciences, but the economics offers the dominant perspective in the programme. The study plan offers rich variety of electives through which the student can select an area of public policy on which to concentrate (e.g. health, social security, utilities regulation, environmental policy etc.).

Graduate’s profile: In addition to the “traditional” employers from the ranks of banks, international organizations and research institutions (including think-tanks), graduates who have selected a specialization in a particular area of public policy become welcome specialists in public administration offices on a national or municipal level.
