Faculty of Economics Supports Efficient Municipal Administration

The Center for Regional and Administrative Sciences at the Faculty of Economics actively participates in the development of the “Nepomucko Community of Municipalities” (Společenství obcí Nepomucko), one of the first communities of its kind in the Czech Republic and the very first in the Pilsen Region. This new cooperation model allows municipalities to share personnel and financial capacities, and to exercise self-government and state administration more effectively.

The Nepomucko Microregion has been successfully operating in the area for 27 years, helping municipalities obtain approximately 20 million CZK annually for joint projects, cultural events, investments, and technical equipment. The newly established Community builds upon this experience, bringing a higher level of professionalization and greater authority.

In cooperation with the Center for Community Work West Bohemia, the Center for Regional and Administrative Sciences prepared a comprehensive analysis that served as the foundation for planning the Community’s activities. The analysis is based on municipal development documents, the legislative framework, best practice examples, and field research. With this project, the Center continues its long-term work in the field of applied research and support for regional management.
