Ing. Štěpán Křeček, MBA, Featured Guest on the NF Talks Faculty Podcast
On June 12, 2025, Ing. Štěpán Křeček, MBA, accepted the invitation to appear on the NF Talks faculty podcast. He currently serves as Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, is Chief Economist at BH Securities, and is an alumnus of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague. In addition, he is the host of his own podcast, Offline Štěpána Křečka.
In a conversation with host Jan Hartmann, Štěpán Křeček reflects on his professional journey—a path he had envisioned for himself as early as kindergarten. He also discusses his involvement in a debate club during his secondary school years, his decision to study economics at university, and other key milestones that shaped his career in the field.
This episode also explores a range of topics, including: What does it mean to serve as the economic advisor to the Prime Minister? What are the societal challenges we face today, particularly in the digital realm, which Křeček engages with through his own podcast? How does he cope with unconstructive criticism? How does he manage to strike a balance between personal and professional life? And does he see running as a way to disconnect from data and charts—or rather as a method for arriving at solutions to complex problems more quickly?
Štěpán Křeček: “I wanted to be an economist, I am an economist, and I believe I will want to remain one—because I truly enjoy what I do.”
