Alumni Club
The Alumni Club of the Faculty of Economics was founded in 2017 to allow graduates of the Faculty of Economics of the Prague University of Economics and Business to be in touch with their Alma Mater after their graduation.
Our aim is not only to mediate the contact with our faculty, but also to offer graduates the opportunity to participate on the interesting events hold by the Faculty of Economics or even take an active part in them.
The Alumni Club also organizes events for current students to deliver the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of the Alumni Club and the opportunities offered after their graduation at the faculty.
The Alumni Club was created within the project “Development of Educational and Other Activities and Quality Support” at the Prague University of Economics and Business, co-funded by the European Union.

Social Networks & Coronavirus. Communication trends for 2021 from the perspective of companies
In response to the current situation, the Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics organized an online lecture on 13 January 2021 on the topic “Social networks & coronavirus. Trends in communication for 2021 from the perspective of companies “, presented by Vítězslav Klement, a graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the Prague University of Economics and business, who specializes in online marketing, content creation and social networks, at the international level. The lecture was organized, among other things, as part of the Graduate Centers project.
During the lecture, Vítězslav Klement addressed the topic of how the coronavirus pandemic affected the marketing communication of brands and companies, also in the case of their communication on social networks. At the very beginning of the lecture, an introductory insight into the situation of brands and their communication on social networks in the Czech Republic was presented. The discussion continued on the topic of what effects the coronavirus epidemic had on advertising prices on social platforms, or how it changed the behavior of users and brands themselves in 2020. At the same time, the lecture focused on communication trends on these platforms. in 2021 its attention.
Pandemic of coronavirus from the perspective of the business sector, Ing. Karina Kubelková, Ph.D., MBA, October 14, 2020
On October 14, 2020, NF VŠE organized another Graduation Wednesday, this time in online format. The invitation was accepted by Ing. Karina Kubelková, Ph.D., MBA, Chief Analyst of the Czech Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Kubelková presented the current effects of the ongoing coronavirus crisis on Czech companies, the economic policy measures of the Czech decision-making sphere taken in order to minimize these negative effects on Czech entrepreneurs, and at the same time predicted the prospects of Czech companies. In conclusion, the doctor answered a large number of questions from the participants of the videoconference, in which she evaluated, for example, national or European funds intended for economic recovery. We appreciate the positive evaluation of this event and the abundant participation of the listeners!
Lecture by Golden Gate CZ, March 5, 2020
The company Golden Gate CZ, which organizes regularly paid lectures at the University of Economics, lectured free of charge on March 5, 2020 for the NF University of Economics Alumni Club. The topic was investment opportunities at present with regard to global economic developments. The lecture was led by regional manager Jiří Janoušek and later the company’s founder Pavel Kupka also took part in the discussion.
Graduway Leaders Summit London 2019, November 19 – 20th, 2019
Leading of Alumni Clubs at the University of Economics, specifically Adéla Zubíková (Faculty of Economics), Markéta Lipavská (Faculty of International Relationships) and Alžběta Kožušníková (Faculty of Finance and Accounting) attended a conference in London on 19-20th November 2019 to share good practice in cooperation with graduates with the best universities across the world. There were for example representatives from the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. Full of inspiration and enthusiasm, they are looking forward to the gradual realization of new ideas and recommendations from the world’s elites at the University of Economics!
Graduation evening, 9 November 2019
The Prague University of Economics and Business organized for their graduates the traditional Graduate Evening in November 2019 and the Faculty of Economics could not miss it. At first, the participants were welcomed by the Rector in the „Vencovského Aula“. The Prague Symphony Orchestra performed there. The speech of the Rector and short speeches of the Deans were followed by a banquet. Culinary specialties were prepared. An informal meeting called „the Dessert with Dean“ was prepared afterwards. Graduates of the Faculty of Economics could meet with Dean prof. Zdeněk Chytil, with management of the Alumni Club of the Faculty of Economics and with other members of the Faculty of Economics.
The peak of the evening was the performance of the trio INFLAGRANTI and Josef Vojtek. Guests also enjoyed the continuation of the entertainment in form of video-disco with hits of the 80s to the present. Everyone had a great time, we thank them for their participation and we are looking forward to the next event. Before leaving, everyone was offered an Alumni magazine, which is also available online here.
“The economic direction of Europe or what about the euro and debts?”, Ing. Vladimír Pikora, Ph.D., October 30, 2019
The Faculty of Economics, Prague University of Economics and Business, welcomed Ing. Vladimír Pikora, Ph.D., a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and the chief economist of Next Finance currently, who came to give a lecture to the graduates of the Faculty of Economics on the topic “Economic direction of Europe, or what about the euro and debts?”. The lecture was followed by the third informal meeting of the Alumni Club of the Faculty of Economics in the restaurant Deštník, where a banquet for the Alumni Club members was prepared. Dean prof. Zdeněk Chytil, CSc., Vice-Dean Ing. Vojtech Krebs, CSc., Vice-Dean doc. Ing. Miroslav Sevcik, CSc. and other members of the Faculty of Economics came to meet with the members of the Alumni Club of the Faculty of Economics. We are grateful for your participation and also for the growing membership of the Alumni Club – there are currently over 200 of us!
„How to become successful“, Ing. Martin Vrána, MBA, October 2, 2019
Graduate of the Faculty of Economics Ing. Martin Vrána, MBA returned to his Alma Mater after years to share his work and life experiences with contemporary students. The lecture contained several mentoring recommendations that characterized the essential values of successful management of personal and professional life with an impact on business. It combined an unconventional and a modern form of presentation applied to real situations.
Students could actually hear and get more than ten years old recommendations for team management, time-management, strengths and weaknesses, and job interview in 21st century and more.
Thank you very much Ing. Martin Vrána, MBA for your lecture and we hope that you will be followed by other graduates soon!
Graduate Wednesday, April 24, 2019
On 24th April 2019, the Faculty of Economics, Prague University of Economics and Business, organized another lecture within the activities of the Alumni Club, this time on the topic “10 years after the world economic crisis”. The speaker was one of the most cited economists in the Czech media Ing. Štěpán Křeček. He is a graduate of the Bachelor’s and Master’s program at the Faculty of Economics, Prague University of Economics and Business, and he is currently completing his doctoral program at the Faculty of Economics, Prague University of Economics and Business. The lecture was followed by a Discussion with graduates. Thank you all for participation!
Second Informal Meeting of the University of Economics Graduate Club, April 24, 2019
The lecture was followed by an informal meeting of the Alumni Club of the Faculty of Economics in the restaurant Deštník where a banquet for graduates and members of the Faculty of the Prague University of Economics and Business was prepared. We are very pleased with the abundance and positive attitude of the graduates to their Alma mater!
Oxford Debate with International Students from EADA School of Business, Spain, April 2, 2019.
On 2nd April 2019, the Alumni Club of the Faculty of Economics in cooperation with International Study Programs realized a meeting of foreign students from EADA School of Business (Spain) with students of the Faculty of Economics. There was a so-called Oxford Debate on the program. Two members from the Prague University of Economics and Business lectured the topic “The European Union and its pros and cons” and discussed this topic with students. The arguments “for” were presented by doc. Mgr. PhDr. Silvester van Koten, Ph.D. and Ing. Milan Bednář introduced the arguments against. Students could vote which attitude convinced them more. The debate was followed by student networking.
After realization of the successful Days with VŠE, which took place in previous years, we have established so-called “Graduate Evening” this year. It took place on 10th November 2018, and of course, the Alumni Club of Faculty of Economics could not miss it.
The program included the traditional welcoming of the participants by the Rector of the University of Economics and the University’s Symphony Orchestra, the rector’s speech with the deans about the present and the future of University of Economics, the informal meeting of the graduates of individual faculties within the so-called “Dessert with the Dean” and the concert of Support Lesbiens. The whole program was accompanied by an excellent banquet and the end of the program included a video-discotheque in the style of the 80s and 90s.

Meeting of Indiana University students and students and graduates of the Faculty of Economics, University of Economics
The NF VŠE Alumni Club organized a meeting of Indiana University students and students and graduates of the Faculty of Economics on Tuesday 22 May 2018.
In the first part of the program, Sasha Fedorikhin from Indiana University presented a presentation on “Marketing tactics based on consumer heuristics and biases in decision-making and how to better resist those tactics by consumers” and after him presented Helena Chytilová’s from Faculty of Economics, University of Economics with topic “Company pricing policy and reasons for wage and price rigidity based on “thumb rules” (heuristics)”. Participants thus had the opportunity to compare different views on behavioral economics and different learning styles.
The second part of the program was networking among students. The American students were divided into groups to which Czech students were assigned and discussed the education system, culture, sport and other topics of everyday life in the Czech Republic and the USA.
We thank our students and graduates for having fun with our guests, so they did not even want to leave!
“Graduate Wednesday” and the first informal meeting of members of the Alumni Club of Faculty of Economics:
The Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics organized another successful “Graduate Wednesday” on 28th February 2018. This time the presenter was Mr. Ing. Petr Pavelek, Ph.D. He spoke about public budgets of the Czech Republic – strategies, forecasts, expenditure liability. The lecture and discussion were followed by the first informal meeting of the Alumni Club of Faculty of Economics. By common toast we officially started the activity of the Alumni Club.
Day with VŠE 2017
On 4th November 2017 has taken place the 11th year of the VŠE Day, where graduates and supporters of the University of Economics meet every year.
After the opening ceremony with the performance of the University’s Symphony Orchestra a professional program followed, this time focused on tax consultancy, performances of the participants the competition “University of Economics is looking for talent”, a theater play called “Vztahology” and a performance of a band of graduates called “Míchačka betonu”.
