Scientific Board of the Faculty

The Scientific Board of the Faculty is an academic body responsible for the strategic management and development of the faculty, particularly in the areas of science, research, and education. It oversees the approval of study programs, participates in habilitation procedures and professorial appointment processes, and discusses the long-term strategic plan of the faculty.

Main Responsibilities and Competences

  • Discussion of the faculty’s long-term strategy
    The Scientific Board reviews strategic documents and development plans of the faculty.

  • Approval of study programs
    It approves new study programs and amendments to existing ones implemented at the faculty.

  • Habilitation and professorial appointment procedures
    The Board participates in these processes, which are essential for the career advancement of academic staff.

  • Advisory role to the Dean
    The Scientific Board acts as an advisory body to the Dean and provides opinions on key matters presented by the Dean.

  • Other scholarly activities
    Its activities may also extend to other areas of scientific and research development at the faculty.

Composition

The Scientific Board consists of faculty academic staff members as well as external experts who are not employed by the faculty. The Board is usually chaired by the Dean of the faculty.

Importance

The Scientific Board is a key body for the development and functioning of the faculty. It ensures the quality of education and research and plays a significant role in shaping the future direction of the faculty.
