Head to Košice this Summer! Apply for the Erasmus+ BIP Summer Institute 2026
Do you want to experience more than just traditional classes, earn valuable credits, and look at the pressing issues of modern cities from a new perspective? Apply for the international Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) Summer Institute 2026, which will take place in Košice, Slovakia.
This short-term intensive program is a great opportunity for Master’s students to meaningfully combine their studies, travel, and international networking. Participation in the program is fully funded by the Erasmus+ programme. Upon successful completion, you will also earn 3 ECTS credits (you only need to fill out and sign a Learning Agreement).
Theme: Home: The X-Factor in Future Cities
This year’s edition will focus on solving the current challenges of modern cities with a special emphasis on the phenomenon of housing. During the program, you will have the opportunity to deeply explore and design solutions for the following areas:

Housing affordability and its effective management.

Social inclusion and the issue of homelessness.

Climate-resilient housing with regard to sustainability.
-
Improving the overall quality of life in cities.

The growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in urbanism and city planning.
What awaits you during the program?
The Summer Institute is not just about sitting at a desk. You can look forward to interactive lectures from leading international experts (past speakers have included renowned urbanists and economists such as Carlos Moreno and Peter Nijkamp).
The main focus is on teamwork with students from all over Europe. You will put your knowledge into practice during the “Hack the City” bootcamp, where you will solve real urban problems in international teams. Of course, there will also be plenty of room for networking and making new contacts.
Course and Evaluation
You do not have to worry about a traditional exam. Evaluation is based on practical outputs and your engagement. Participants are expected to:

Actively participate throughout the entire program.

Work intensively in a team on a specific urban problem.

Deliver a final presentation of the joint project.
