On March 4, 2025, at 3:00 PM, the Secretary-General of the OECD, Mathias Cormann, will visit VŠE!

Thanks to this unique opportunity during his visit to the Czech Republic for the release of the OECD Economic Survey: Czech Republic 2025, you will have the chance to meet the Secretary-General and engage in discussions with OECD experts.

  • The current Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has been in office since March 2021, when he was selected as the most suitable candidate for the position by the OECD Selection Committee.
  • M. Cormann took over the leadership of the OECD at a time when the world was dealing with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and countries were formulating their economic recovery plans. The OECD plays a key role in this process—whether by assessing economic impacts, serving as a platform for international experience sharing, or providing recommendations for economic revitalization.
  • Mathias Cormann was the longest-serving Australian Minister of Finance (13 years) and is a former senator.

OECD Economic Survey: Czech Republic – Conclusions and Recommendations

The OECD Economic Survey is a flagship publication that provides a comprehensive assessment of a country’s economic development every two years, with a detailed focus on selected structural challenges. The OECD regularly evaluates macroeconomic indicators, economic policies, growth prospects, and risks. The Economic Survey serves as an independent OECD assessment, accompanied by policy recommendations.

The 2025 Economic Survey will analyze macroeconomic developments and focus on key structural aspects of the Czech economy. This edition will primarily address education and education policy, alongside an analysis of decarbonization, innovation, and the business environment.
